Wordnet-LMF has been proposed in the context of the EU KYOTO project as
an LMF format for wordnets. It is fully compatible with the Lexical Markup Framework (LMF),
a published ISO standard (ISO-24613) for encoding lexical resources.
The conversion of GermaNet into Wordnet-LMF resulted within the context of our work on
Standardizing Wordnets in the ISO Standard LMF: Wordnet-LMF for GermaNet (see reference below).
In our paper (see reference below), we propose a number of crucial modifications and a set of
extensions to Wordnet-LMF that are needed for conversion of wordnets in general and for
conversion of GermaNet in particular.
There are two XQuery scripts for converting GermaNet to
Wordnet-LMF available: one that results in the unmodified version of Wordnet-LMF (as it was
proposed by the KYOTO project), and another that results in a revised version of Wordnet-LMF
as proposed in our paper.
