The goal of information retrieval is to find material that satisfies an information need in a large collection of largely unstructured documents. This Hauptseminar will cover:
The course will focus both on the theory and implementation of information retrieval. The implementation is done in the form of small, but efficient programs, in one of the following languages (subject to individual students’ preferences): C, C++, Java, Go, Python, or Rust.
