Detmar Meurers: Advanced Programming Techniques for Computational Linguistics (795E, Autumn 2001)

General description of 795E courses

Course description of this 795E instance

Following the feedback I received regarding the level of 795E, which can be introductory or advanced, this year we'll have an advanced seminar. The course will be based on Richard O'Keefe's excellent book "The Craft of Prolog". During the first two weeks, I'll present the basic topics in Prolog covered in Chapter 1, after which all participants get to pick and present different subjects from the book. In parallel to the seminar as such, each student will specify and implement a small software project agreed on during the first couple of weeeks. If you're thinking about doing computational projects in the symbolic domain, taking this course is highly recommended.
