About the Workshop

We are pleased to announce the Workshop on Evolutionary Theory in the Humanities, held as a satellite event at the 12th International Conference on the Evolution of Language in Toruń, Poland. This event is organized by Przemysław Żywiczyński, Sławomir Wacewicz (Nicolaus Copernicus University Toruń), and Roland Mühlenbernd (Ca'Foscari University Venice); and funded by the Human Behavior and Evolution Society (HBES). The workshop aims at bringing together researchers who all study human evolution, but come from diverse filed in humanities, such as cognitive science, epistemology, anthopology, linguistics, information science, sociology, cultural studies, etc. We are happy to be able to present the following speakers:

  • Nathalie Gontier, Researcher at the Applied Evolutionary Epistemology Lab, Centre for Philosophy of Science, University of Lisbon, Portugal
