The working copy of GermaNet is stored within a database. The exchange
format, which is mainly used to distribute GermaNet, are XML files. There is another
XML-based format - Wordnet-LMF - concerning standardization and exchange.
An old data format that was used until September 2009 were so called
lexicographers' files. For more information on each data format
